Euro abaixo de 1,30 dólares pela primeira vez desde Janeiro

A última vez que a moeda dos 17 Estados membros esteve a negociar abaixo da fasquia dos 1,30 dólares remonta ao dia 12 de Janeiro deste ano. O euro recuava há momentos 0,32% para 1,2995 dólares.

"O euro continua extremamente vulnerável. A maioria das pessoas acredita que para se chegar a alguma solução é preciso que os governos trabalhem em conjunto na frente orçamental", comentou Jane Foley, especialista do Rabobank International.

Na base da queda do euro está um leilão italiano a cinco anos. Roma financiou-se em três mil milhões, o montante máximo previsto, mas teve de voltar a pagar um juro recorde de 6,47%. Por outro lado, ficou hoje a saber que os empréstimos dos bancos espanhóis junto do Banco Central Europeu (BCE) atingiram 98 mil milhões de euros no mês passado, um máximo de Setembro de 2010.

A moeda única está também a ser afectada pela decisão da chanceler alemã, Angela Merkel, de excluir um aumento da capacidade do Mecanismo de Estabilidade Europeu, que vai substituir o Fundo Europeu de Estabilização Financeira em 2012.
